Bonding Treatment: Why and When
What is a bonding treatment?
We can go a little technical. Bond-repair treatments are formulated to repair broken bonds in the hair, creating healthier hair. The focus of bonding treatments is on restoration and repair of hydrogen bonds and replenishing protein. OK, OK that's deep enough. The point is it restores/repairs the bonds in the hair. Not to be confused with a protein treatment that strengthens the bonds.
Bonding treatments are best to be paired with chemical services. The services I usually deliver that would be good for a bonding treatment follow up are relaxers and color services. Because chemical services alter the bonds in the hair this would be a good follow up service to begin to repair those bonds. Also I will complete a bonding treatment with a client that goes into protective styles back to back. *Keep an eye out for that post*
Why would you get a bonding treatment?

The system I am recommending comes in a kit. All instructions are there. I always suggest you read it all the way through first. Then again touching the products that go with each step. And then one more time while completing each step. When on the doing part always read two steps ahead so you are prepared for anything time sensitive.
Why are you recommending Olaplex?
Like all of my recommendations this is a product I use in my salon. I use the entire bonding treatment system as well as components as part of the services I deliver. I have seen it work on all hair types and have measurable results.
This post was kinda short, which is weird. It's weird because this is a very important treatment to add to your health hair habit routine.
I think we are good for now. I hope this was helpful and see you next week 😊
*Bonus knowledge: Everyone grows hair at pretty much the same rate. The difference is retention of that growth*
